Robert Peary is a famous american explorer. Born in 1856, Pennsylvania, USA.
From America to the north pole
 Robert Peary had wanted to go north ever since he joined the United States navy in 1881.
Robert Peary tried to get to the north pole in 1906 but he failed. But in 1909 he made it to the north pole
Robert Peary was a civil engineer. He designed and built a vessel called the Roosevelt. The Roosevelt could break through the frozen seawater by riding up onto the ice slabs and then crush them with the wait getting back into the water.
